HVO100 low emission transport:
a Book and Claim case study

Case study: FincoEnergies BioFuelSwap Book and Claim Product
This case study explores how Dutch road carrier Nabuurs, in partnership with FincoEnergies' BioFuelSwap program, delivered a certified low-emission transport service for a multinational FMCG shipper achieving up to a 94.4% reduction in transport emissions compared to a conventional diesel B7 baseline.
Using a book-and-claim approach from a mass balance with HVO100 sourced from Used Cooking Oil (UCO), the case demonstrates how carriers and cargo owners can unlock verifiable Scope 3 emission reductions through flexible, scalable fuel procurement without requiring dedicated supply chain infrastructure.
Verified by EY to limited assurance, this real-world example illustrates the practical application of the Smart Freight Centre’s Voluntary Market Based Measures framework in European road freight.
