What is a Smart Freight Center (SFC) member?
SFC Members consist of shippers, carriers, logistics services providers, etc. These organizations join SFC to access resources, communities and projects driving freight decarbonization. We offer tiered membership (e.g. Base, Premium, and All-In). Membership benefits include access to SFC networks and Academy training perks: members receive exclusive discounts and free course seats. How many free seats am I entitled to per membership tier?
The number of free seats varies by membership tier. Once all free seats have been allocated, member discount rates apply. These are shown in the question: What discounts do I receive as an SFC Member?
What discounts do I receive as an SFC member?
SFC Members receive discounted access to SFC Academy courses. Once the allocation of free training is used up, member discount rates apply, as shown below. Not sure if your company is an SFC member? Email academy@smartfreightcentre.org and we can assist.
What discounts are available to non-members?
Non-SFC members can also take advantage of the group enrollment discounts shown below.
How can I check if my company is an SFC member and how do I become one?
Email academy@smartfreightcentre.org and we can assist.
If your company is not yet a member and you want to join, visit the SFC website’s “Join as a Member” page or contact SFC staff – membership strengthens your access to SFC’s full suite of benefits, including Academy training discounts and free seats.
Do membership benefits apply to all Academy courses?
SFC membership benefits generally apply to all SFC Academy courses. Partner courses and custom training are excluded. Contact academy@smartfreightcentre.org if you are unsure.
Which self-paced e-learning courses can I access free of charge with my member coupon?
You can use your member coupon code to enroll free of charge in all SFC Academy self-paced e-learning courses. Partner courses and custom trainings are excluded. Please find below the full list of self-paced e-learning courses you can access using your free tickets:

Which live virtual trainings can I enroll in free of charge with my member coupon?
Premium and All-In SFC members can use their member coupon to enroll free of charge in all SFC Academy live virtual trainings. Partner courses and custom trainings are excluded. You can use your free seats for any of the cohorts of the following trainings:

Book and Claim in Practice
Electric Vehicle Emissions Calculation
Road Freight Electrification in Practice
Maritime Emissions Calculation in Practice
Aviation Emissions Calculation in Practice
Please note: Base members can enroll in these trainings with a the exclusive member discount, but do not receive free seats.

How to redeem my free seats as part of my SFC membership?
To use a free seat, email academy@smartfreightcentre.org with your membership details; the Academy team will provide you with a discount code and instructions for redeeming your free ticket.
Do membership discounts stack with promotional codes or other offers?
Generally, SFC membership discounts cannot be combined with other promotions or discounts unless explicitly stated. If you have a promo code or special offer, please contact academy@smartfreightcentre.org to confirm how it applies.
Can membership benefits be used for custom training?
Contact academy@smartfreightcentre.org to discuss your organization’s needs and confirm eligibility.
What happens if my company’s membership expires — do I lose my benefits immediately?
Once a membership expires, benefits such as free seats or discounts no longer apply to new course enrollments. Access to previously purchased courses and certificates remains unaffected, but new registrations will be billed at the standard rate until membership is renewed.
Can I use my SFC membership benefits for courses already purchased at a full price?
Discounts or free seats are only available at the time of enrollment. If you have questions about a recent purchase, contact academy@smartfreightcentre.org to discuss possible solutions.
